Trainer Stephen Gray was quite “chuffed” with the effort of Goldschatz to make it five wins in a row, the last three in feature races.

First starter Saga King showed a glimpse of his potential with a debut win in the $65,000 Maple Leaf Cup, a Restricted Maiden over 1200m on Friday night.

The first mini-feature of the year, the $150,000 Woodlands Classic Stakes (2000m), was captured in style by Goldschatz on Saturday, incidentally ringing up his fourth win in a row.
